Logan Health to light up the night to honor those who have passed
On Tuesday, December 21, Logan Health Hospice will be holding their second annual Light Up the Night event in which they will honor and remember those who have passed away this year with luminaries. Last year, roughly 500 luminaries, each dedicated to an individual who passed away in 2020, lined Sunnyview Drive leading up to Logan Health Medical Center.
The luminaries event was started in place of the Tree of Lights ceremony that took place each year around the holidays. During that ceremony, those who had passed were honored with an ornament on a tree in the Logan Health Medical Center lobby. Due to the visitor restrictions that were in place last year at Logan Health’s facilities, the luminaries were introduced as a safe alternative.
Community volunteers will be helping set up the luminaries beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The lights will be turned on at sundown and will remain lit through the following morning. Community members are invited to drive or walk through the display to remember their loved ones and celebrate their lives.
