Family Practice

Marjorie Albers, MD, joined the KRH team in July 2019, as a resident physician at the Family Medicine Residency Clinic of Western Montana.    Her professional interests include addiction, women's health, health systems, Indian Health, and becoming a pluripotent stem cell specialist for rural communities. She attended Reed College in Portland, OR and graduated in psychology and neuroscience. A Fulbright scholarship allowed her spend a year studying obesity in a neuroendocrine lab in Sweden. This cross cultural interaction prompted her to spend two years in the Peace Corps in Botswana, working in AIDS education, prevention, and treatment in rural clinics. After returning to the United States, she spent time as a medical assistant to family physician at a community health center in Billings, and this experience led her to further her education to obtain her medical degree at the University of Washington TRUST (Targeted Rural Underserved Track) Program, which specifically focuses on rural clinical health programs. Growing up in Billings, MT, Marjorie is a 5th generation Montanan, and she and her husband are ecstatic to have been assigned to Kalispell, where they are close to family and next door to the outdoors they so love, in their own home state. Outside of work, Marjorie enjoys swing dancing, running, reading, and traveling (32 countries and counting!).

Dr. Albers is a resident physician for 2019-2021 as part of the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana.
