What to Expect

KRMC Behavioral Health
What We Provide
Logan Health Behavioral Health provides inpatient hospitalization for psychiatric and/or chemically dependent adults and adolescents in a friendly and professionally staffed medical facility. It is a short-term, acute behavioral health hospital with an average stay of usually less than a week. Lengths of stay vary and are determined after the patient has been evaluated by the treatment team. On admission a registered nurse will work with you through the admission process. You will be seen by medical and/or psychiatric physicians. Your assigned therapist will make every effort to introduce him/herself to you as soon as possible and will act as your counselor and case manager. If you are admitted in the evening you will meet your physicians and therapist the next day. Daily group therapy, life skills and recreational therapy are provided to help you learn more effective coping skills.

Voluntary Admission
If you are coming to Logan Health Behavioral Health voluntarily you will complete paperwork upon arrival. You may sign a request to leave anytime after your admission, but your psychiatrist has up to five business days to ensure a safe discharge plan for you.

Involuntary Admission or Emergency Detention
If you are coming here involuntarily this means that you will be required by law to stay here. You will be provided paperwork regarding this, and a court appearance will be scheduled for you. This will not go on a police record, and you are not in any legal trouble. A copy of your patient rights will be provided either by the mental health professional who evaluated you prior to admission or by the nursing staff upon admission. Also, a public defender will be provided for you for any court proceedings.
