Stella Hutchins, MD, is a native Montanan born in Ronan and primarily raised in Kalispell. Dr. Hutchins grew up on outdoor adventures, including rafting, backpacking, hiking, fishing, and skiing. Dr. Hutchins credits her mother, a family medicine physician, for her clinical interests and in helping others. Her family has volunteered annually at the same underserved hospital on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia for the past 16 years! Dr. Hutchins earned a bachelor degree in biology from The College of Idaho. For the following two years, she traveled internationally and volunteered at clinics to help underserved patients; worked as a raft guide; and she taught people with disabilities how to ski. She returned stateside and earned her medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Hutchins has returned to Montana to complete her residency training. Her professional interests are focused in rural and global medicine, behavioral health, preventive medicine, and wilderness medicine. When she not at work, you can find Dr. Hutchins exploring outside, eating ice cream, or sleeping.
