Orthopedic surgeon Kim Stimpson, MD, practices with Logan Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Professionally, he developed a special interest in sports medicine and offers his time to work with local high school athletes. Dr. Stimpson carried out his pre-med studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and completed his medical degree at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He spent both his internship and his orthopedic residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and then completed a sports medicine fellowship through New England Baptist Hospital in Brookline, Massachusetts. He began professional practice with San Dieguito Orthopaedic Medical Group in La Jolla and Encinitas, California, then moved to the North Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Clinic in Tupelo. Earlier he had served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves Medical Corps, and carried out a term as a missionary in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dr. Stimpson and his wife, Kelly, have five children. He enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, running and fishing.
