John Means, MD, FACS, started his surgical practice in Kalispell in 2010 and was recruited to join Logan Health Surgical Clinic in 2015. He brings a wealth of experience in advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques in the management of benign and malignant surgical conditions. He received his medical degree from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland, in 2000 and completed his surgical residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2005. He was awarded a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Means was then on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center prior to moving to Montana where he developed a busy minimally invasive surgical practice. His surgical expertise focuses on minimally invasive and robotic abdominal surgery. He has particular interests in foregut surgery, colon surgery and hernia repairs. He has developed a complex practice that includes regional referrals for antireflux surgery, revisional hiatal hernia, paraesophageal hernia, esophageal achalasia and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. Dr. Means is married, and he and his wife, Ali, enjoy all things Montana, including backcountry skiing and snowmobiling, rafting, fishing and hunting.
