John Erickson, FNP-C, RN, BSN, MSN, joined the Geriatrics and Supportive Care department at Logan Health in January 2014. He had been practicing more than 10 years as a registered nurse when he earned his Master of Science in Nursing and his family nurse practitioner certification in 2013. Throughout his career, John has developed a specialized interest in geriatric patient care. He earned his associate degree in registered nursing from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, Butte, and then his registered nursing bachelor of science from Kaplan University, Chicago. He graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with his master’s degree and earned his certification as a family nurse practitioner. John supervised the day shift at Butte Convalescent Center in Butte, Montana, then moved to the Flathead Valley in 2003. He served as a staff nurse with Colonial Manor in Whitefish, a traveling nurse for A Plus Health Care in Kalispell, and then as a staff nurse with Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. While with the Lutheran Home he also was a staff nurse with the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. John’s community involvement includes more than a decade as the Butte Foursquare Church youth pastor, and another five years as youth pastor for Whitefish Foursquare Church. In his free time, he enjoys reading, skiing, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and their dog, Max.
