Amelia Durling, MD, MHA, joined the Kalispell Regional Healthcare team in June 2020 as a psychiatrist at The Newman Center and Pathways Treatment Center. Dr. Durling earned her medical degree Magna Cum Laude from Avalon University School of Medicine, and completed residency training in psychiatry at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She also spent two years attending medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, working exclusively with Spanish-speaking patients. Dr. Durling has a special interest in integrating lifestyle medicine principles in her practice and believes that optimizing diet and lifestyle is a major factor in the patient’s overall well-being. She has worked with patients using the Dialectical Behavior Therapy model, and uses these skills in her every day practice. For the last two years of her residency, Dr. Durling became involved with the Assertive Community Treatment team in Omaha, NE and gained valuable experience working with patients with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
