Radiology

Amanda J. Beer, MD, is a general diagnostic radiologist for Northwest Imaging, as well as a subspecialty trained breast radiologist at The Women’s Center at HealthCenter. After completing her undergraduate education with honors, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine for her medical education. After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Beer completed her transitional year internship at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, and pursued her radiology training at the University of Virginia Health System, where she was recognized as one of the Future Leaders in Radiology by the Association of University Radiologists. She was also awarded the prestigious All-University Teaching Award, the first-ever radiology resident to receive the award from the president of the university. Dr. Beer was granted a breast imaging fellowship at the University of Virginia Health System Breast Care Center, where she became an expert in women’s imaging including digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, contrast enhanced spectral mammography, breast ultrasound, molecular breast imaging and breast MRI. She spent additional time during her training mastering pediatric radiology, which continues to be one of her passions. Dr. Beer is committed to maximizing access to screening by serving as medical director of Save a Sister, a charity to help decrease the impact of breast cancer on the Flathead Valley. She also is passionate about educating her patients on risk reduction strategies and risk-based screening, and decreasing the emotional impact to patients by maximizing access to care. She relishes her role in the collaborative oncologic team at Kalispell Regional Medical Center to provide advanced treatment and care for breast cancer patients as a whole, not just a number. Dr. Beer followed her dreams of living in big sky country when she moved to northwest Montana in the summer of 2016. She is humbled every day that she is able to care for the women and children in this community. During her free time she enjoys hiking, biking, cooking and spending time with her growing family.
