Rehab & Recovery

Helping patients get back to the business of living is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work at KRMC. We’re here to put you on the road to a full recovery.

Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation provides monitored exercise and risk factor management for individuals recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, heart transplant, valve surgery, stable angina or a catheterization procedure.

The program is coordinated by a team of nurses, exercise physiologists and registered dietitians. Cardiac rehabilitation promotes daily exercise, a balanced diet, risk factor reduction and stress management. Care is individualized based on diagnosis, medications, current physical status and the physician's recommendations. All education classes are held in a Summit conference room and are free. Patients may also qualify for our SETPAD (Supervised Exercise Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease) program, as well.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary rehabilitation helps you to live an active life within the limitations of your lungs. Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an outpatient program designed for those diagnosed with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This program focuses on supervised exercise classes and education about your lung condition to help patients reduce and control breathing difficulties and other symptoms, as well as learn more about this disease, treatment options, and chronic disease coping strategies.

A physician referral and pulmonary function test completed within the last year are required. Most insurances cover pulmonary rehabilitation.

For more information call (406) 751-4504 or (406) 751-4514

Outpatient Therapeutic Respiratory Care
For patients who have lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis, outpatient therapeutic respiratory care offers exercise and education designed to strengthen the respiratory muscles and the muscles of the arms, trunk and legs. Once enrolled in the program, patients work with a team of pulmonary rehabilitation specialists who will tailor the program to meet their specific needs

A referral is needed from your physician documenting your diagnosis, need and reason for breathing retraining.  Pulmonary function test required.  Most insurance companies will cover respiratory rehabilitation services.  Please call our team at 751-4514 or 751-4504 for more information.
