Healthy Classrooms
About Healthy Classrooms
“Healthy students and teachers create happy classrooms where more growth and learning can occur. We love having the opportunity to work directly with teachers throughout Flathead Valley to fund their classroom dreams and create more learning adventures.” - Brittany Coburn, NP-C, Logan Health School-Based Health Center Program Director.
Logan Health's Foundation and School-Based Services awards local educators across Northwest Montana with $500 grants to provide student-centered and staff-related healthy living initiatives. This October, Logan Health awarded grants to 16 educators at Flathead Valley schools.
The awarded grants will fund projects such as new athletic equipment for students and staff, in-classroom hydroponic gardens, ukuleles for students to explore the joy of music, on-campus bike racks and tire pump station, nutrition education curriculum and in-class cooking demonstrations, portable under-desk exercise pedals, and educational field trips opportunities.
Educators from following schools received Healthy Classroom grants:
• Bigfork High School
• Creston School
• Cayuse Prairie School
• Columbia Falls Junior High
• Columbia Falls High School
• Deer Park Elementary School
